Daily tip #2: Enable word flow in WP 8.1

As many of you already know, Windows Phone 8.1 comes with the word flow keyboard. This means that you can swipe in order to write text, instead of typing character by character. However, word flow only works with a few languages: Arabic, Dutch, English (UK and US), Finnish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish (Mexico and Spain), Turkish, Ukrainian. You can go here and see if they added more languages.

But what about the other users, with a different language? At first, I thought that I had to go over to settings and change my language every time when I wanted to use word flow, but it turns out that it’s much easier. You can have more languages installed, and you can switch between them using a button from the keyboard:

You just have to press the button between “&123” and “space”, and a list of your installed keyboards appears. By default, I have the keyboard set to Romanian, but if I want to play Fast Swipe, then I have to select the English language so word flow is enabled.

You can also enable or disable word flow by going to settings -> keyboard -> tap on a language -> check/uncheck the option “Type as I swipe through letters”.

If you want to test your skills at typing with the word flow keyboard, you can download Fast Swipe from the Windows Phone Store:
